Hairmetry
Disclaimer
Educational information, not medical advice.
Hairmetry shares summaries of published research and general hair-care information. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and nothing here replaces advice from a doctor, dermatologist or pharmacist who knows your history.
Medicines and procedures
Pages about prescription medicines, procedures and experimental compounds describe what studies have found. They are information as studied, not a recommendation to use anything. Discuss with a doctor before starting, stopping or changing any treatment. Some options are not suitable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, or for people with certain health conditions.
Under 18
This site is not meant to guide treatment decisions for anyone under 18. Young people should talk to a doctor, parent or guardian about hair concerns and should not start prescription treatments from information on this site. Photo analysis is limited to people aged 16 and over.
See a doctor first if
- you are losing hair suddenly or in patches,
- your scalp is painful, very red, scaly or has sores,
- hair loss comes with tiredness, weight change, or other symptoms,
- you are worried about your hair for any reason.
Emergencies
If you have a severe allergic reaction (swelling of the face or throat, trouble breathing), chest pain, fainting, or think you have been poisoned, contact your local emergency number right away. This site cannot help in an emergency.
Evidence has limits
Studies are done on groups of people, and results in a group may not apply to you. Research changes, and we may be out of date.
Photos and suggestions
Suggestions based on a photo are an estimate of hair type and routine, not a diagnosis. You choose the final answers.
Products
The Hairmetry products shown on the site are in development and not for sale. Their formulas are proposals and may change before any launch. We use no affiliate links and show no other brands' products.
