Hairmetry
About Hairmetry
Hairmetry aims to be the most open, free guide to hair health and looks. It is for everyone, whatever your hair type, and it treats hair loss and hairlines as seriously as curl care, damage and styling.
What you can do here
- Find your routine. Answer a few questions, or start from a photo, and get a routine ranked by what matters most for your hair, with time frames, plus the Hairmetry products that fit.
- Look things up. The encyclopedia covers the molecules, ingredients, conditions and procedures that affect hair, from the well proven to the speculative, each with the studies behind it.
- Learn what the research says. Guides explain topics such as shampoo, heat, drying and hair loss, and the insights page explains surprising findings in plain words.
How the research is done
- Every claim is traced to a study we opened and read. Each study is shown with its design, size and result, and links to the original paper or regulator page.
- Every claim links to the studies behind it, and we say plainly when evidence is only from lab tests, animals, small studies or company-funded research.
- We update pages when the evidence changes. When studies disagree, we say so instead of picking the result we like.
- Recommendations come from a fixed set of written rules, not from an AI. If you use a photo, the AI only suggests answers to the quiz, and you confirm them.
- Medicines and procedures are described as information, not advice. Please discuss them with a doctor.
What we do not do
There are no ads, no affiliate links and no accounts. Nobody pays to be listed, and we take no money from other brands. The site is paid for by its owner, and it is built to be useful to everyone.
Hairmetry is a free guide, and we are also developing our own Hairmetry products, which your results may suggest. Our editorial policy explains how we handle that conflict of interest.
